
DRC member, Isabella Grumbach, MD, PhD has been appointed to the Kate Daum Professorship which credits outstanding women scientists at the University of Iowa. This position is endowed in honor of Kate Daum, PhD who directed the University of Iowa’s Nutrition Department for nearly 30 years and helped pave the way for female scientists at the university.
Since arriving at the University of Iowa in 2006, Grumbach has held many leadership roles, including Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Fellowship program, then as Chief of Cardiology at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. In 2014, she was named Vice Chair for Research for the Department of Internal Medicine, a position she still holds today.
