FOEDRC member Mohamad Mokadem appointed to state medical cannabidiol board

Mohamad Mokadem, MD, associate professor in Gastroenterology and Hepatology has been appointed by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to the state’s Medical Cannabidiol Board (MCB). The MCB consists of eight physicians of different specialties, and one representative from law enforcement. Mokadem joins two other University of Iowa faculty members who are also a part of the MCB, Andrea Weber, MD, clinical assistant professor of Psychiatry and of Internal Medicine, and Michael Colburn, MD, clinical assistant professor of Pediatrics.

The duty of the MCB is to submit an annual report to the general assembly detailing the activities of the Board, as well as recommendations for program improvement.
