The African American Museum of Iowa will be honoring four individuals who will receive the “History Makers Award”. Dr. Abel was one of the 2018 recipients of this award, which will be presented to him on October 4 at the History Makers Gala. The “History Makers Award” aims to honor African Americans who have made lasting impacts on their communities and have through their existence, changed the course of history.
